Spend time by a river.
Sit under a tree.
Listen to old people.
Listen to children.
Dance every chance we get.
Laugh every chance we get.
Make friends. Connect. Move outside our circles
to someplace new,
if only in our minds.
Expand the circle. Open the door.
We have nothing to do but
love one another.
Look people in the eye and smile.
Acknowledge our fellow humans,
everybody struggling to get by.
Every day we make our civilization,
every one of us, piece by piece.
What we say, what we do,
changes the world around us
every day we live.
We can act like it matters
what we say, what we do.
We can take this life seriously.
Buy, or don’t buy.
Speak, or stay silent.
Every choice changes everything.
We’re connected in ways we can’t see.
Every meeting leaves a trace.
Any two bodies, once connected,
will always be connected.
What happens to one will always affect the other.
We are not separate beings.
These connections form our world,
our civilization,
ourselves.
Change ourselves,
change the world.
What do we have to do
except try?
